From June 15 to July 15, 2026, American Express is bringing back its Shop Small® campaign, designed to encourage consumers to discover and support the independent shops that make their neighborhoods vibrant. The concept is simple: Get €5 back when you spend €20 at participating retailers with an American Express Card*. Restaurants, grocery stores, cafés, boutiques, and artisans—hundreds of thousands of merchants across France are joining in, including several thousand in Marseille. It's a perfect chance to (re)discover local gems while supporting the local economy.
Three Marseille addresses we particularly love
Among the participating shops in Marseille, it’s hard not to mention Moutchou, the little grocery store...

Another spot that clearly deserves a detour : Beans Marseille, in the Notre Dame du Mont area (6th). This family-run place draws inspiration from London restaurants specializing in all-day breakfast, serving Anglo-Saxon breakfasts all day long in a friendly atmosphere. On the menu : English breakfast, pancake stacks, homemade granola, egg buns, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, coffee, snacks, and cocktails. It's the perfect spot for brunching on the weekend or relaxing on the terrace in the sun.

Finally, we can't talk about iconic shops without mentioning the Marseillaise Soap Factory of the Unicorn, located on Cours Julien (6th). Here, Marseille soap is made on-site, following a traditional craftsmanship passed down for over 100 years, with oils, lye, and unchanged techniques. You can also discover unique local creations, gift sets, and sometimes surprising soaps like pétanque or lavender sardines.

How to Enjoy the Reimbursement?
First, you need to register your American Express Card for the Shop Small® offer on the online account or the brand's app before making your purchases. Then, every minimum spend of €20 in a single transaction at a participating store allows you to recover €5 directly credited back to your account. The offer is valid up to 2 times per cardholder, at 2 different shops (one use per establishment)*. Just a heads-up: the operation is limited to the first 40,000 registrants. What a great excuse to try out new spots in Paris this summer!
