Good decisions today, a positive impact tomorrow
We love living by its side, going on vacations near it, and dipping in its waters from time to time… The Mediterranean is one of those beautiful turquoise gems that we cherish. It’s also the home to over 17,000 marine species, with an incredibly rich diverse fauna and flora that we must protect at all costs, despite the ecological upheavals we are experiencing.

Four Thematic and Immersive Spaces
Spread over more than 1,000 m2, the exhibition is divided into four thematic spaces. The grand journey begins in the room “Oceano-Mania,” where an impressive 4-meter tall sperm whale sculpture welcomes visitors. Thanks to an immersive information projection, they discover the evolution of the Mediterranean over the past 35 million years. The adventure continues with “Oceano Monaco,” which highlights the period from 1885 to the present day, focusing on the commitment of the princes of Monaco to the preservation of seas and oceans, but also ...the challenges to tackle and the concrete solutions implemented to address them.

« Oceano Odyssey » takes you right into the year 2050. In this 310 square meter space, you'll be immersed in the depths of the ocean, guided by cetaceans and other marine animals, thanks to immersive projections and cutting-edge technology. The adventure comes to a close with « My Oceano Med », where visitors are invited to take action by expressing their voice. The impact of everyone’s choices is projected in real time, allowing you to see the importance of collective action when combined with the commitment of public authorities. The web application My OCEANO Med, sharing its name with the venue, invites visitors to extend the experience and commitment to the Ocean, beyond the walls of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. And you, will you be able to take on the challenges and evolve your own Marine Protected Area?
An exhibition that is both immersive and educational, encouraging reflection, changing our perspective on the world, and inspiring us to do everything we can to contribute to the protection of the Mediterranean.
