The Salon du Chocolat is celebrating its return from October 28th to November 1st at the Parc des Expos de la Porte de Versailles, with its multiple tastings and chocolate fashion shows. It was on this occasion that the second edition of the Master du Pain au Chocolat took place on Monday, October 30th, organized by the Confédération Nationale de la Boulangerie-Pâtisserie Française. And the good news is that an address from Île-de-France is in the top 3!
42 candidates... and only 3 will remain!
For this new edition, 42 candidates were competing to win the 2023 prize for the best pain au chocolat in France.The jury, made up of professionals in the industry and food journalists, had the pleasure of tasting each pastry and evaluating the baking and flakiness, as well as the shine and texture. Each candidate had the task of presenting 5 identical pain au chocolat (between 55 and 65 grams). The grand winner crowned Champion of France is Sylvain Belouin from Pays de la Loire, followed by Sigami Sugeetharan, a baker to discover in Claye-Souilly, just outside of Paris.
