The Editor

So yes, Chatou, it doesn't sound very exciting. But we promise you that 1) it's not that far away, and 2) it's really, really worth it. This winter, just a stone's throw away from Paris, on the Impressionist Island, the Cirque du Soleil invites you to discover their new fascinating show: Kurios - Cabinet of Curiosities. The troupe will be in Île-de-France until January 14th, and then they will head to Germany before returning to Montreal at the end of May.

A futuristic steampunk universe

As soon as we are seated in the room, we are plunged into a world far from ours. Steam, machines, characters with extravagant looks, some of them only half-human, evolve around us in a choreography as chaotic as it is aesthetic. And after a first act that astounds us with its density, and already makes us want to dance and clap our hands, the real business begins.

The numbers follow one another, all more impressive than the others, for nearly 2 hours of show that, let's be honest, will make you feel like it lasts only a few seconds. The costumes, sets, and props are simply breathtaking, and we salute the immense talent of the live musicians and singers who perform and set the pace throughout the show.

Breath-taking Performances

Get ready to spend the entire evening sitting on the edge of your seat, holding your breath, and with wide eyes. The artists come one after another, and while they may not be the same, they all impress us with their talent and abilities. From a "simple" juggler to a clown who makes us laugh until we cry, and even two acrobats who move in perfect synchronization, one on the ground and the other suspended from the ceiling, not to mention a tightrope walker who balances on a swing (just like that), it's an absolute success.

A special mention goes to the fish-men who wriggle in their net. Here we have talented acrobats flinging one another in the air on a huge trampoline.
