A new way to reach the sky
After more than a decade of changing hands and battling threats of demolition, it seems that the sun is finally shining again for this absolutely stunning Gothic monument. Indeed, Philippe Goujon, mayor of the 15th arrondissement, recently approved a project to convert the place into a relaxation and coworking space focused on climbing.
But before considering any transformation, the place needs to be made fit to welcome the public, as it is in somewhat of a deplorable state today. Asbestos removal, waterproofing, facade refurbishment, everything is being done to restore the place to its former beauty. Built in 1900, the church has been undergoing a major renovation since the end of 2023.
.See this post on InstagramOne thing is certain, with its 14 meters in height, Sainte-Rita has everything to attract climbing enthusiasts, regardless of whether they practice a religion or not. And if, in the process, it helps preserve Paris' architectural heritage, what more could you ask for? Currently, no reopening date has been set.
"has been announced regarding the opening of the place, but we will be there.
