After a successful first edition in 2019, Treasures of the Suburbs: Crowns of Humanity is back this year for a second edition at the Chanteraines factory in Gennevilliers until April 13. What's on the agenda? A artistic journey featuring 250 works, some of which are centuries old, and others created for the occasion, all celebrating art, creativity, and the diversity of urban areas.

The Treasures of the Suburbs in the heart of a disused factory

Six years after taking over the Halle des Grésillons – which attracted nearly 22,000 visitors in 2019 – the free exhibition Treasures of the Suburbs is now making itself at home in another exceptional building in Gennevilliers: the Chanteraines factory. A 1,200 m2 industrial space, designed for the occasion as a "blank canvas" and enhanced by the murals of street artist Kanos. At its heart, 70 partner communities from Île-de-France are coming together to make this event unforgettable! They have gathered more than 250 works from public collections and local funds. A true highlight of the artistic and human richness of the suburbs in France.

"The Trotiniste" by Boldi; the canvas "Scene of Rowing" by Ferdinand Gueldry; the bronze bust named "France" by Auguste Rodin; an urban work from the street artist C215; and the statue "To Coluche" by Guillaume Werle, proudly standing at the entrance of the factory, a lovely nod to Coluche, who opened the very first center of the Restos du Coeur in Gennevilliers nearly 40 years ago.
