Since July 2022, macBAR has carved out a special place in the hearts of the people of Lyon and art enthusiasts. Nestled within the International City, just a stone's throw from the Tête d’Or Park, this exceptional venue offers a true bubble of tranquility right in the city center. Its terrace, a genuine haven of peace, is perfect for enjoying beautiful summer days... Open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 am to 1 am, it offers a unique atmosphere at any time of the day!
A place that transports us outside the city
But wait... is there also a restaurant ?? Yes, yes ! Besides the exhibitions and the evening events, the macBAR is primarily a place where you can indulge in delicious dishes that are simply irresistible... At lunchtime, they offer a tasty menu (that will evolve at the end of September) featuring local products. You can enjoy a full meal, from appetizers to dessert, with ingredients that vary daily based on what's in season. They have a daily special, as well as a vegetarian option, because the museum café aims to be inclusive above all. For those in a hurry, the street food menu is the perfect alternative for a quick lunch (but we promise, it's just as delicious !).
A coffee like no other
It’s also a peaceful spot to enjoy delicious coffees roasted by their local partner Mokxa. From classic ristretto to cappuccino, all the hot drinks are made by the baristas on-site! You’ll also find plenty of refreshing beverages, perfect for those long summer days.
An electric vibe all year round!
If coffee isn’t really your thing and you prefer sipping a nice cold beer on a terrace, no worries: the museum bar also offers a selection of drinks, from cocktails to beer and European wines, available by the glass, pitcher, or bottle. And be sure to jot this down in your calendar: from Thursday to Sunday, starting at 6 PM and going until the last dance, the museum café transforms into a true cultural nightclub. Let yourself be carried away by the diverse musical DJ sets, perfect for an energetic after-work. But that’s not all! Want a flash tattoo or to relax with a coloring workshop? That’s happening here too; the macBAR loves mixing culture, art, and good vibes.
And they don't stop at the event level! With macBAR XXL and the OPEN MUSEUM FESTIVAL, music and art go hand in hand. Exciting new features arrived this summer, including a spacious outdoor bar complete with a barbecue for grilling up a storm, as well as water and beach games. Additionally, the terrace will be open all through September to soak up the last days of summer... In short, there's never a dull moment at macBAR!
