Just a stone's throw from Lyon, the Demeure du Chaos has never been just another museum. It's a living organism, a space in constant evolution where materials seem to think, breathe, and resist. Once a Protestant temple from the 17th century, it has transformed into a total artistic experimentation ground, and today, it stands as a disturbing mirror of our times. Here, rust is not an end, but a language. And crisis is the raw material.

On Saturday, May 23rd, in celebration of the European Night of Museums, The Demeure du Chaos will exceptionally open its doors at 6 PM and host the exhibition “From Chaos Comes AI”, directly tackling the hot topic of artificial intelligence. Far from polished speeches, we...o;the installation confronts visitors with more than 7,200 works blending steel, paint, and digital visions. The idea is simple yet unsettling: to not observe AI from a distance, but to seize it, question it, and confront it with its own contradictions. Here, it's no longer a tool, but a reflection. A mirror that reflects both our advancements and our fractures.

AI as the Heir to Human Chaos

The exhibition presents a radical thesis: artificial intelligence is not separate from chaos, but rather its logical extension. It doesn’t create a new world; it recycles our tensions, our data, our obsessions. When a machine "hallucinates," it’s not really going off the rails. It invents, just like art always has. It transforms raw data into an improbable narrative. And that’s exactly where the trouble begins.

Just a reminder, The Demeure du Chaos has been officially recognized as "Complete Work of Art" by the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, on March 20, 2025. This much-anticipated national recognition helps the place further establish itself as a one-of-a-kind location and a top cultural destination in France.

Figures, totems, and the vertigo of the future

The journey blends portraits, installations, and symbolic structures to tell a new mythology of the digital age. The figures of AI like Li Fei-Fei, Sam Altman, and Yann Le Cun stand alongside other historical faces, from Trump to Assange, as if they all already belong to the same mural. Further along, totems engraved with words like “algorithm” or “hallucination” sketch out a language that has become part of everyday life. And at the center, a question lingers: if the machine learns to create, can it also learn to disappear?

The Demeure du Chaos transforms into a total world, extending even into the virtual realm. Thanks to the complete digitization of the site by Groupe Serveur, a pioneer in artificial intelligence research since 1987, a metaverse of 9,000 m² reproduces every detail of this architecture of tension. This digital double...that transforms the place into an augmented cathedral, where 25 years of physical creation extend into a data space. A total work, blending concrete, code, and vertigo.
