On April 22nd at 6:30 PM, the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, located on Bouffard Street, is celebrating a brand new chapter in its history. Three inaugural exhibitions will be showcased for this occasion, followed by a concert and a DJ set in the MADD's honor courtyard.

A more sustainable and inclusive museum

Led by architectural agency Antoine Dufour, the MADD project aims to reunite its two buildings: the private hotel, built at the end of the 18th century, and the former municipal prison, dating back to the late 19th century, now connected by a glass and steel pavilion. The project's goal remains twofold: to preserve the architectural identity and unique atmosphere of these heritage sites and adapt them to the requirements of a contemporary museum. Dedicated to highlighting the decorative arts, the services...

art, craftsmanship, and design in all its forms, the museum aims to tackle major contemporary challenges and put eco-responsibility, inclusion, and civic engagement at the heart of its project.
