By bike, on foot, or even by boat, the people of Toulouse have all walked along the Canal du Midi at least once. In the shade of the plane trees and taking regular breaks to enjoy the landscape and the peaceful atmosphere, it's the perfect stroll to relax and unwind. Starting from the center, you just have to walk along the water and stop whenever you want. However, be careful, you might end up in Castelnaudary without even realizing it.
The most urban
A simple walk in the city center is enough to realize that we are surrounded by beauty. Many renowned architects have participated in the creation of the pink city. When we find ourselves walking the streets and looking up at the buildings around us, we realize how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful city. The postcard-perfect Toulouse is real and surrounds us every day. Whether it's the Carmes district, Saint-Sernin, or just the building facades, everything can be surprising if we let ourselves be amazed.
The Most Festive
It's one of the favorite places of students and those who don't want to spend 10 euros on a pint of beer. The Quai de la Daurade is an institution, a certain idea of partying but it can also quickly turn into a beautiful walk if you continue on towards the Bazacle. Go down through the main entrance and take a right. In the end, one can wander along the water from Empalot to the Bazacle without stopping, enjoying various beautiful panoramas. It's also about rediscovering your city, not just sticking to what you know. For a picnic, with friends or family, you can also go across from Daurade, to the Prairie des Filtres. A large welcoming grassy area where people of all ages mix and mingle at all times.
The most original
For the most sensitive souls, we are now talking about one of the calmest places in Toulouse. The Terre-Cabade cemetery may not be the type of place you would initially think of visiting, but its architecture is sure to pique your curiosity. Among the occupants of the site is Urbain Vitry, the architect behind it all and also part of the Jolimont Observatory. As you descend from this neighborhood, you can discover this place and especially its simply magnificent Egyptian entrance.
The most bucolic
This article has not yet discussed the various gardens in Toulouse, so it's time to do so. The options are plentiful, but in addition to the well-known Prairie des Filtres and Parc de Compans, it is necessary to mention the cases of Jardins de Jolimont and Parc de la Reynerie. The former, located near Rue du 10 Avril, offers over 8000 m² of tranquility and shade, a peaceful setting, and a very diverse vegetation. The latter, dating back to the 19th century, surrounds the Château de la Reynerie with its original French-style garden, greenery, and a wide variety of flowers.
