Ready for a tasty journey to Spain? On Friday, March 27, embark on an adventure to the Aragon region with this culinary immersion specially designed for Toulouse residents. At the heart of L’Atelier des Chefs, the Spanish Tourism Office and Turismo de Aragón are hosting 15 food lovers (and their companions), drawn at random for a highly delicious evening. The program includes two workshops where we will cook, learn, and taste Aragonese recipes, featuring both traditional and innovative dishes, from tapas to pastries!

Tapas: The Art of Sharing

In Aragon – and in Spain more generally – tapeo is a true institution. And for good reason, these creative bites embody the joy of Spanish life, exploring a multitude of Iberian flavors and, most importantly, inviting everyone to share. Cities in Aragon like Huesca, Teruel, and Zaragoza are even true capitals of tapas, hosting annual competitions celebrating culinary innovation.

There's no doubt about it, on March 27th, the evening will dedicate part of its program to the famous tapéo. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover some of the iconic products with the designation of origin from Aragon, such as ternasco, Teruel ham, olive oil, and borage. So many products and flavors to smell, taste, and work with during a workshop led by Antonio Palacios, a passionate chef, trainer, and ambassador of Aragonese cuisine. His cooking is a love letter to his land, blending technique, sharing, cultural identity, and generosity. With him, you'll get to taste and cook tapas yourself, and then take home the recipes to recreate them in your own kitchen!

The Sweets of Aragon

The second workshop of the evening will delight all sweet tooths, as it will proudly showcase pastry from Aragon.Aragonese series. Recipes where tradition and the influence of ancient cultures blend beautifully with the creativity of new pastry chefs. Among the must-tries from the region, we especially highlight the sun-soaked fruits of Aragon, almojábanas, tortas de alma, and the famous trenzas de Almudevar.

This time, the workshop will be led by pastry artist Yolanda Royo, born in Toulouse and founder of La Tartería in Zaragoza. A fairy of sweet treats with a purely intuitive and sensory approach to taste, she will share the best tips for getting hands-on with dough.

An immersive journey into the festive spirit of Spain, taking us far beyond the landscapes of Aragon, its villages, and monuments. Because visiting Aragon is above all a testament to good taste.
