Forget about the small dishes; we're bringing out the big pot! From November 14th to 16th, TouloIt was a weekend absolutely overflowing with friendliness and cheesy goodness with the arrival of Aligofest. A festival dedicated to the rustic gastronomic treasure that is aligot-sausage. All of this took place in a stadium, with a totally crazy yet incredibly joyful goal: to break the world record for the largest quantity of aligot-sausage served. Just that!
And to host this legendary feast, the Stade Arnauné, home of TO XIII, will transform into a giant canteen with a rugby spirit. Up to 5,000 food lovers are expected at the table, ready to take on the challenge of holding their forks up high. This idea was born among the team of Rémi Dufour, the club's president, who wanted to reignite the Toulouse spirit with a popular, generous event rooted in the local culture. It looks like the bet has paid off!
A world record in sight
On the agenda: plenty of aligot, of course, but also a festive atmosphere worthy of the biggest ferias. Brass bands, DJs, live match screenings on giant screens, a continuously open bar, activities for kids and adults, raffles, and even live updates on the kilos of aligot devoured. Each bite.chèe will count for the record and each guest will become part of this extraordinary feast.
After earlier this year setting the world record for cassoulet, Toulouse might just become the global capital of shared food. And in between bites of sausage, we might even start to hope that culinary Olympics will be invented soon. In the meantime, we're sharpening our knives and rehearsing our battle cry: “À taaaaaable !”
