You know those people who swear they could drop everything for "a new adventure abroad"? Apparently, that's not quite the vibe in Toulouse... According to a study by Adobe Express, the Occitan capital earns the bronze medal for the cities most attached to their region. In simple terms: 34% of Toulouse workers don’t want to move, neither from their apartment, nor their sunshine, nor their accent (and we totally get that). Opportunities abroad do appeal to 28% of them, but the call of the South is stronger than anything. The combination of work, family, and a good aperitif is sacred.

.

At the top of the rankings, we find Rennes and Nice, two other cities where the sense of belonging is strong. But honestly, who would want to leave a city where the blue sky shows up 250 days a year and where cassoulet is a loyalty argument all on its own?

A connection that goes beyond work

According to the OECD, a French person stays in the same job for an average of ten years before moving on. But in Toulouse, this number takes a different turn; work is important, but not at the expense of quality of life. With sunsets over the Garonne, bike rides along the Canal du Midi, and weekends in the countryside, the mountain à 1h30 drive, no wonder the Pink City keeps its residents stuck like chewing gum on the pavement !
