A Journey into the Neolithic Era
The Cartailhac Museum highlights the fascinating Neolithic remains discovered in the town over the years. These archaeological excavations, which began over 70 years ago, revealed Neolithic structures from the Chasséen period, spanning from 5000 to 3500 BC. These archaeological discoveries uncovered about twenty burials and nearly a hundred hearths with heated stones, providing a unique glimpse into the life and customs of this ancient people.

An enriching experience
The Cartailhac park, a beautifully landscaped 7000 m² site, offers visitors an immersive experience. Information panels, 3D modules, and even a replica of a stone oven have been carefully designed to tell the story of the Chasséens, a Neolithic people who left their mark in this region. Discover their way of life, farming practices, and remarkable Chasséen pottery through installations created by experienced archaeologists.
