No need to cross the Alps or take a vaporetto to dive into the enchanting world of the Venice Carnival. This year, magic is coming to you. More precisely, at the Château de Merville, just a stone's throw from Toulouse, where you can enjoy a weekend out of time on May 31st and June 1st, 2025. Just imagine: a historic monument, a giant boxwood maze, and a procession of masked characters straight from the 18th century. All set to the backdrop of opera tunes and classical music with a Venetian flair. This is far from your typical summer camp masquerade ball.

A unique atmosphere worthy of Venice
On Saturday afternoon, visitors will have the privilege of strolling through the historic lounges of the castle, where around fifteen costumed characters will gracefully move about in a setting that rivals the Serenissima. And on Sunday, it will be in the park's pathways and the famous maze — the largest boxwood maze in Europe, no less — that the magic will happen, from 11 am to 5 pm. The association Les Masqués Vénitiens de France, which travels to the most beautiful heritage sites with its poetic parades, promises a grand show, straddling the line between street theater and a waking dream.

And if you’re worried about feeling a bit drained between arias, a tavern and a picnic area are waiting for you to recharge. So, put on your prettiest Venetian mask (or not) and get ready to lose yourself in this one-of-a-kind carnival!
