We’ve found you a (truly) special walk if you're passing through the Paris region. Head over to the Rentilly Cultural Park – Michel Chartier. Here, there are no dusty old stones: you go to marvel at a monumental outdoor work of art. An illusion created by Veilhan.

As soon as you arrive from the Torcy train station, it’s a complete shock. Right in front of you is the most original castle in Seine-et-Marne. Dreamed up by visual artist Xavier Veilhan, in collaboration with architects Bona-Lemercier and set designer Alexis Bertrand, this building is entirely covered in polished mirror steel plates, creating a spectacle that will leave you speechless. Architecture and nature become one in an installation that evolves based on its environment and the weather.

But the journey doesn’t stop there. Inside, the castle has reinvented itself as a top-tier contemporary art center. Access is ...for free to discover exciting and diverse exhibitions amidst minimalist structures that offer stunning views of the area. It's the perfect combo to treat yourself to a dose of culture without the sometimes overly serious vibe of Parisian galleries.

54 hectares of greenery and surprises galore

After the artistic and visual delight that the Rentilly estate offers, get ready for a total change of scenery in the vast 54-hectare park surrounding the château. The estate features three distinct areas, each with its own unique vibe: a majestic French-style park complete with beautiful pools, a romantic English garden, and a wild forest. Whether you're in the mood for a hike, a picnic, a break from the hustle and bustle of Paris, or simply want to connect with nature amidst the giant sequoias and century-old trees, you won't find a better spot!

As you stroll along, you'll discover other quirky places like a beautifully restored orangery and Turkish baths. For the more adventurous, you can even continue on the hiking trail to the Gondoire valley! So, whether you're curious, a nature enthusiast, or just looking for a relaxing day out, there’s something here for everyone!

Are you tired of reliving the same Sunday strolls? Then head over to the Rentilly Cultural Park – Michel Chartier.
