Here... it's... Toulouse! This morning, the Pink City has risen to the top spot in the 2025 student city rankings published by L'Étudiant, taking back the first place it had given up last year to its neighbor Montpellier. And honestly, who is even surprised anymore?

With over 120,000 students, Toulouse comes alive at every corner. Its red bricks, bicycles weaving through the paths, cafés spilling onto the cobblestones: here, youth has truly made itself at home. Students thrive in renowned institutions, from prestigious preparatory classes to top engineering schools, soaking in the warm Southern air as they step out of the library, and most importantly, they party like nowhere else!
A Dream City for Students
But Toulouse shines not just with its sweet life. As the European capital of aeronautics, it blends innovation, research, and economic dynamism, offering students real opportunities. With a score of 9/10 in employment, the city is as reassuring as it is alluring. Let’s not forget the museums, concerts, Sunday markets, the Canal du Midi for biking between exhibitions, and the Basilica of Saint-Sernin.
