Just a few months ago, finding a K-pop album required a lot of patience… or a trip all the way to Paris. But that was before! For the past few weeks, the Arnaud-Bernard street has been vibrating to the tunes of BTS, Seventeen, Astro, and TxT thanks to Dingga Dingga Music, the very first record store in Toulouse entirely dedicated to South Korean pop. This independent shop is far from just having CDs; it’s bursting with little treasures for devoted fans: official lightsticks, vinyl records, photocards, Asian snacks… All of this in a warm atmosphere where you can chat about music.

A still discreet scene, but an audience that wants more
In just a few weeks, Dingga Dingga Music has attracted over 500 customers and sold nearly 1,000 items. This shows that Toulouse has been waiting for this! Even though K-pop is exploding everywhere in the world, the Pink City is still somewhat lacking in events and dedicated venues. Aside from the K-café and a few active associations, the offerings are quite limited. Alexandre, the manager, is aware of this and even wants to go further: to set up an event company, organize festivals, markets, showcases… In short, to make Toulouse a true K-pop hotspot that matches its audience.
