On September 17th, viewers of France 3 discovered the verdict announced by Stéphane Bern: it’s the Château de Chantilly, located in Hauts-de-France, that takes home the highly coveted title. As for the Place du Capitole, proudly situated in the center of Toulouse, it settles for a lovely 7th place. No podium finish, but still a spot in the Top 10, ahead of prestigious sites like the Château de Chenonceau and the Basilica of Saint-Denis. Not too shabby, right?

An Unwavering Pride in Toulouse

A symbol of Occitanie, the Place du Capitole continues to reign as the grand open-air stage of the city. Even without a trophy, it remains the backdrop for all Toulouse stories, from weddings to concerts, not to mention the passionate outbursts of supporters. The locals love it just the way it is, as Bigflo and Oli remind us in their worldwide hit "Ah, c’est dommage"... but that’s not enough to dull the local pride, right!

Ready for a rematch ?

With over 300 years of history and an allure that transcends regional borders, the Capitole square still has every chance to shine again in future editions. In the meantime, it undoubtedly remains the favorite monument of... the people of Toulouse !
