A little throwback to understand. On May 18, 2025, a particularly violent hailstorm struck the Labarthais region. The result for Emmaüs: an exploded roof, damaged workshops and warehouse, and a sales room where it was literally raining inside. An additional problem (and not a small one) was that the roof contained asbestos. Immediate closure, no discussions allowed!

What happened next says a lot about the spirit of this community: instead of passively waiting for the renovations to finish, the teams organized outdoor sales in the parking lot every Saturday, just four months after the disaster. Not ideal, of course, but enough to keep the connection with the regulars and the economic activity that directly supports the funding of the organization. Because at Emmaüs, no sales = no social missions. So the stakes were quite real.
5,000m² of great deals
After more than a year of renovations (roofing, workshops, living spaces for the companions), the site is reopening in a reimagined version that is supposedly even more welcoming! For a place that used to welcome an average of 700 people a day before the incident, the return to normal is a collective sigh of relief. Located in Labarthe-sur-Lèze, about twenty minutes south of Toulouse, Emmaüs is back to its usual hours starting this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and all day Saturday. 5,000 m² of second-hand treasures are just waiting for you!
