A true gourmet institution in the Pink City, « Le Café à la Une » is a restaurant with timeless and authentic charm, rooted in the gastronomic tradition of delightful little Toulouse bistros. It’s a lively and poetic place, charming and bucolic, where good bottles and tasty feasts come together. Here, everything is designed to make you feel at home... but even better.

A magical decor that adapts to every season
In winter, we settle into a charming red brick building, surrounded by oak flooring, a sturdy staircase, and a central fireplace where today's grilled delights sizzle away. Upstairs, there's a cozy little nook called «The Apartment» by Café à la Une, featuring intimate spaces, including a private lounge lovingly nicknamed «The Dressing», perfect for smaller gatherings. And for those seeking an even more surprising experience: head to the restroom, where a jacuzzi reigns, giving a nod to the quirky atmosphere of the place.

In the summer, this spot transforms into a blissful riverside café. A large, flower-filled garden with plenty of shade, a wooden terrace beneath a centuries-old wisteria, and twinkling lights that illuminate as night falls... it’s the perfect place to sip a cocktail or enjoy a friendly "Trinquette de Zaza" happy hour, where you can snack with friends starting at 5:30 PM. And here’s a cherry on top: the restaurant opens its doors every second Sunday of the month from 12 PM to 3 PM for a brunch that’s as hearty as it is delicious (28€/person)!

A paradise for food lovers and meat enthusiasts
When it comes to the plate, it’s a serious matter. Here, exceptional meats take center stage and are grilled over a wood fire right before the eyes of the customers. With AOC Aubrac rib steak, Simmental ribeye, Black Angus flank steak, and Basque Manex pork chop… the selection is mouthwatering. But this place is also famous for its generous skewers, international-inspired dishes, and its delightfully indulgent approach to French cuisine.
Each dish comes with its clever play on words : We start with a gravlax cod tartare, avocado, and combawa lemon, cheekily named “Hands up, not a zest.” Then we can’t resist the “Pretty pork chop from Basque Manex,” and, “clearly, we’re not here to lay parquet!!!” And if you’re in the mood for a flavor journey, why not go for a “Hydrating plumping treatment,” featuring giant breaded squid tentacles with oregano, Lebanese Toum sauce with sweet confit garlic, roasted eggplant with zaatar, and fresh fries. You can't leave without something sweet, especially when the house offers the “Zaza's Banoffee,” a star on the menu since 2001, with its evocative subtitle: “Dolce & Banana, 30 years on the hips!!!.”
And unlike any other bar, the three mascots of the restaurant, Tyrex, Rio, and De Janeiro, are three adorable cats born right here, watching over the place with as much grace as a sommelier in his wine cellar. A spot where everything is homemade, seasonal, and crafted with passion, where people come as much for the food as for the ambiance, where the evenings come alive to the sweet madness of its team "the Fork Gang" … Café à la Une is the kind of gem you hesitate to share but can’t keep to yourself for too long.
