The Editor

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind journey! In September, the Pink City turns into a giant open-air gallery for the Anamorphoses of the Côte du Midi, an exciting path between art, illusion, and heritage. After a fantastic 2023 edition at the Capitol Square, and a 2024 edition along the banks of the Garonne, the Côte du Midi Tourist Office invites us to (re)discover the region from the other side of the Saint-Pierre Bridge, on the promenade of Dr. Charles Rose.

Art and Anamorphoses

Created in the 15th century, anamorphoses are a type of optical illusion. In short, it’s a technique that transforms an image that initially appears distorted, revealing its true form when viewed from a specific angle. So it’s easy: throughout the Anamorphoses of the Côte du Midi route, visitors are invited to stand on the marked spot on the ground near the installation, to discover what’s hidden!

the illusion. The little extra? Behind the screen of a phone or a camera, the result is even more impressive! The 3D rendering promises spectacular shots, with the ability to stage yourself in them.

In this brand-new 2025 edition, five installations will be waiting to be discovered along the promenade of Doctor Charles Rose. Featuring unique creations by Sweo & Nikita, self-taught artists and anamorphosis specialists. Inspired by their travels and hip-hop culture, they blend street art, wildstyle, 3D, and anamorphosis in a delightful balance of geometry and light.

Discovering the Côté du Midi

The goal of the event? To take us on a journey to the heart of the Côté du Midi in Aude, from its Mediterranean coastline to its endless vineyards, and most importantly, to spark our desire to visit it for real! A beloved destination known for its warm and friendly way of life, its beautiful city of Narbonne, its historical and architectural heritage, and its squares rich in ancient heritage. The perfect mix of natural landscapes and gastronomy.

To achieve this, the Côte du MIDI Tourist Office asked Sweo & Nikita to showcase 5 must-see highlights of the area. During the journey, you can enjoy the view from the Port-La Nouvelle lighthouse, dive into the world of Gustave Fayet at the Fontfroide Abbey, tame a lion at the African Reserve of Sigean, walk in the footsteps of the Romans in Narbonne, or even discover a vineyard the size of a ladybug. A photo exhibition complements the route along Henri Martin promenade, connecting urban art from previous editions to the natural landscapes of Côte du Midi.

A Dream Getaway to Win

To top it all off, the event will be highlighted by the presence of the Tourism Office teams from the Côte du Midi every weekend, here to meet the people of Toulouse and share all about this amazing destination. They’re also there to encourage us to participate in the contest for a chance to win a dream getaway for four people for a week next spring! This stay, valued at €1,500, includes a week in a charming gîte in a village near Narbonne, plus tickets to the African Reserve of Sigean, the Fontfroide Abbey and its gardens, the Narbo Via museum, and even a dive 80 meters underground at Terra Vinea. This is an opportunity you won't want to miss!
