The Editor

Located in Niederhaslach, just 25 minutes from Strasbourg, this independent garden center specializes in selling rare, original, and unusual plants, as well as regional, heirloom, and forgotten vegetable varieties.

If you want to turn your apartment into the jungle of your dreams, here are some examples of unusual plants (and we're not talking about the Yucca that everyone has):

Edible Plants

Perfect for aperitifs, this edible plant has a real taste of camembert cheese! At Alsagarden, you can also find other edible plants like mint with chocolate or citrus flavor, a chewing-gum flavored plant, or vegetable ham (yes, really)

Plants with unique shapes

This one is called Colutea Arborescens or if you prefer, the bladder tree! You can also find different carnivorous plants or rare orchids in the shape of a monkey's head.

Sensitive plants

These plants have the amazing ability to react when touched and it's quite fascinating!

You can place an order directly from their website or visit their store. For those of us who love plants, Alsagarden also has a blog for curious gardeners with lots of tips and tricks to become a pro!
