1. The Nideck Waterfall

Located in Oberhaslach, just 40km from Strasbourg, this waterfall is not far from the ruins of the Nideck Castle. Rising about 25 meters, its water cascades over a wall of volcanic rock. The walk is shaded and pleasant in the summer, and spectacular in winter with the waterfalls frozen in ice. In short, between the castle and the waterfall, it’s a must-see stroll that we highly recommend!

2. The Pissoire Waterfall

This waterfall, located in the heart of the forest and surrounded by wooden bridges, is fed by the Blancfaing stream. Not far from the highest village in the Vosges, Haut-du-Tôt, it’s the perfect spot for a nice little stroll. Yes, it may be the odd one out in Lorraine, but it's definitely worth a visit.

3. The Heidenbad Waterfall

A stunning drop of 24 meters that originates from the Thur, this waterfall is located in the village of Wildenstein, in the Haut-Rhin region. Heidenbad means “the bath of the pagans,” and the waterfall gets its name from the giant pots that surround it. These pots are formed in the torrents, but are quite modest at Heidenbad.

5. The Cascade of the Serva

Located in Neuviller-la-Roche, in the Bas-Rhin region, this waterfall from the Vosges massif springs from the peat bogs of Champ du Feu. According to legend, the Demoiselle de la Serva, a fairy with green hair and a silver dress, is said to live in the waters of the stream.

8. The Erzenbach Waterfall

It’s the Erzenbach stream that flows through the village of Steinbach and the surrounding forests, creating beautiful natural waterfalls and giving its name to the Erzenbach waterfall. You can even climb up using a metal staircase! The most famous route is the “Waterfall Loop,” which allows you to discover the lives of miners on a 2-hour trail, with, of course, stunning waterfalls along the way.

9. St-Nicolas Waterfall

Located south of the village of Kruth, this charming little waterfall can be found in a forest with stunning verdant landscapes. The St Nicolas du Rocher Chapel is also on the way: legend has it that young women would come here to ask St Nicolas for a husband. The stream and the waterfall provide a lovely refreshing moment for hikers in the summer!
