Mulan

Disney's Mulan is inspired by Hua Mulan, a Chinese legend, which in turn is based on a Chinese poem called "The Ballad of Mulan". Spoiler alert: Disney completely changed the story. First of all, Mulan is the daughter of an officer who has trained her in combat since she was a child. Her elderly father is called to war and her younger brothers are too young to go in his place, so she decides to take his place. No trickery behind her dad's back, just a mutual agreement.

And let me tell you, Mulan is seriously badass. She spends 12 years honing her skills.Next to the army, where she enchains complex strategies and wins different battles that will make her a general. Except that during all this time, no one realizes she is a woman. When the war ends, the emperor offers various riches and even the opportunity to become a minister to the distinguished fighters. Mulan refuses and simply asks for a fast horse to be able to return to her family. Once the reunions are over, she resumes the weaving she had left before leaving and her feminine clothing. Obviously, when she meets her colleagues from the battlefield again, they are a little (a lot) surprised to see that their bro is actually a woman.le pire ennemi est Geppetto, son propre créateur.

Dear old grandpa, aka Gepetto, is not great either: he is an alcoholic and mistreats children, so he is sent to prison. Pinocchio, happy to be able to live alone, then meets the "Talking Cricket", who tries to warn him by saying that he should obey his father. The annoying puppet crushes the cricket with a hammer. RIP Jiminy. Forced to beg in the street, it's not coins that people throw at Pinocchio but buckets of water. Frozen, he goes home and settles by the fire. Unfortunately, he falls asleep and his feet catch fire.Good news, Geppetto is freed and decides to take care of his son. Of course, the story could have ended there... But no. Pinocchio continues to cause trouble and will be imprisoned, beaten, stabbed, whipped, deprived of food, transformed into a donkey, and the list goes on. In the end, he doesn't become a real boy at all but is hanged by his two worst enemies. Moral of the story: you should never, ever disobey.-embed" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen">

Peter Pan

It is J.M. Barrie who gave us the character of Peter Pan, far from the playful, carefree, and green hero we visualize. To begin with, the author experienced a tragedy, the death of his 14-year-old brother when he was only 7 years old, from which his mother never recovered (to the point of almost abandoning the son she had left). Let me tell you, he was quite inspired by his own story to create Peter Pan, a child abandoned by his mother and unable to feel anything. He refuses to grow up and hates adults so much that he breathes heavily and pants when he learns that with each breath an adult dies, just to exterminate them all.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Derived from the novel "Notre-Dame de Paris" by Victor Hugo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame is not all rainbows and sunshine. In this one, everyone dies. REALLY everyone. Just like in the Disney version.Disney, Esmeralda is in love with Phoebus. On his side, Quasimodo was taken in by Claude Frollo when he was only 4 years old, and he stands out for his ugliness

Frollo is a very intelligent archdeacon who has sworn never to have a relationship with a woman. But everything gets complicated: Esmeralda is head over heels for Phoebus, who is engaged to a certain "Fleur-de-Lys" and not at all in love with the gypsy, while Frollo is becoming more and more addicted to her. On the other hand, young Phoebus wouldn't mind a one-night stand with Esmeralda. Frollo finds out and pays the rascal to be able to watch&n...to their antics" (when we say hooked, we mean hooked). Finally, he takes the opportunity to stab Phoebus, and everyone believes that Esmeralda is the one who did it.

Quasimodo saves her from hanging, keeping her safe in the church, where he will gradually fall in love with her. Once again, due to bad luck, Esmeralda saw that Phoebus was not dead and is convinced that he loves her back, when he really couldn't care less about her. With the help of his brother (who will also die), Frollo manages to kidnap Esmeralda and declare his love to her, only to be harshly friendzoned.

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood is a very popular tale, particularly in Europe, and there are nearly 60 variations of it! Sometimes the little girl ends up eating the flesh and drinking the blood of her grandmother, sometimes the hood is actually a young man disguised as a girl and sent to kill the wolf, sometimes the hunter doesn't exist, or is a woodcutter... So many possibilities!

Despite everything, the first recorded version is that of dear Perrault. A kind, well-behaved, and very pretty young girl goes to visit her grandmother...Once upon a time, Little Red Riding Hood takes the classic path and meets the wolf along the way. Not very cautious, she gives all the necessary information to the animal to find the old woman's house, so much so that he arrives before her and eats her up. When the young girl arrives, he sets a trap for her and, to her surprise, devours her too. The end. Oh, no rescue, nothing: the woodcutters were busy working in the nearby forest.
