Big food lovers only have their eyes to cry. After 10 years of existence, the pastry-tea salon What the Cake has just closed its doors in Strasbourg. It's a delicious sweet page that, alas, is turning.

A tea room like no other: What the Cake, it was refined American pastries with a French twist and just the right vintage decor. In fact, vegetarians and vegans also found something for themselves here. Located on Rue du Fossé des Tanneurs in Strasbourg, this little establishment operated around a carefully chosen concept and stuck to it perfectly. A sweet haven that showcased homemade American pastries, refined with a French touch: muffins, all kinds of pies, cupcakes, cookies, cheesecakes, brownies... Everything was there to make your mouth water. And the pastry cream was a big hit: the address delighted the people of Strasbourg for 10 years without losing its popularity. This shows how much the spot was recommendable and recommended from all sides. But alas, after a decade of good and delicious service, the What the Cake pastry shop has just closed its doors. The news has left many fans saddened, but the memories of their tasty treats will surely live on."Today is a special weekend for us. We have made the decision to permanently close the what the cake store. A shock for some but a relief for us. For several months, especially since the end of covid, the prices of raw materials, rent, expenses, etc. have only been increasing, combined with the decreasing frequency of our regular customers in the city, and the long hours spent in the store every day to offer you fresh products have made profitability no longer viable. As some of you know, I have also been a dad for a year and not being home much has been difficult to manage. We had 2 options. Either we change the products to something cheap and not good, but that's not in the philosophy of what the cake.cake! Either I close the shop and in the near future I could offer you my pastries in caterer mode, without a store and only on orders for events or businesses. I have a thousand things to say but as usual my private life has nothing to do on social networks. Thanks to all the many customers during these 10 long years!!
