Let’s take a step back a few years to 2023. The Cémoi factory in Molsheim finds itself in a bit of a bind. And then, Steve Risch, the CEO of Fortwenger, arrives on the scene, buys the site, and decides to transform it into a one-of-a-kind destination in Alsace. We're talking about a space of 8,000 m² spread over 3 hectares, where they still craft hollow chocolate figures the traditional way, hand-painted with care.

The future site will look like this: there will be an immersive journey to understand how chocolate is born, from the bean to the hand-painted mold. As a bonus, there will be a chocolate school, fun workshops, a shop full of sweet treats, and a cozy tea room where you can sit back and enjoy at your leisure.

Immersive visit, chocolate school, and tea room

This isn't the first time Fortwenger has delighted us with places to visit. The Palace of Gingerbread in Gertwiller is a huge hit (53,000 visitors in 2023), and the Hansi Museum in Colmar also attracts the curious. Let's just say the brand knows how to blend heritage, tradition, and deliciousness! Besides making everyone's mouth water, this new place will also boost the region. Ten jobs are expected to be created in Molsheim: baristas, hosts, and more.Welcome desks, sellers… A lovely way to give a new lease on life to a historic site, all while showcasing the chocolate-making expertise of Alsace.
