Forget the clichés about moms spending their evenings sorting lost socks or finishing leftover dinner. Since March, Strasbourg has been buzzing once a month with an ultra feel-good concept imported from Germany: the "Clubbing Mamas", party nights exclusively for moms, organized by Marie Muller, also known as @mama.etcetera on Instagram. The success is so great that the Péniche mécanique – the venue for the festivities – transforms into a party ship starting at 6 PM, one Wednesday a month, for an XXL dance immersion with friends.

No stress, no judgment, and absolutely no men: here, the queens of the dance floor are the moms. 150 moms shaking it to Beyoncé, Nena, or the Spice Girls, belting out songs at the top of their lungs, having a blast with drag queens, getting glitter on their cheeks, and most importantly, reconnecting. Because yes, dancing like you're twenty again without feeling those heavy gazes or worrying about the morning after is what it's all about!

loureux, it feels fantastic. And with the evening wrapping up at 11 PM, there's still time to sleep a bit before tackling breakfast and the next day's backpacks. No fooling around, right?

The moms party while the dads take care of the kids

What’s another great perk of this concept? It gives mothers an accepted ticket to step out while the dads look after the kids. "No need for a babysitter, my son is perfectly fine with his father", shares a regular who was interviewed by France Bleu. "It’s often easier for a young dad to go out, so now it’s our turn", adds Morgane. A breath of fresh air, a release, an outlet… call it what you will, but these evenings meet a genuine need.

And the best part of the story is that they come back every month. Next event on June 11, same place, same vibe, and just as much glitter. In Strasbourg, the mommy revolution dances in heels or sneakers, but always in rhythm.
