Since its closure at the end of 2021, the building has been haunting the downtown area. Not exactly glamorous for such a central spot, wouldn’t you agree? And great news: it’s going to be completely dismantled. Underneath, the developers are eager to uncover an original façade from the 1930s, paired with a sandstone section from the 18th century, sculpted with the theme of the four seasons.

To honor this architecture rich in history while creating comfortable hotel rooms, the architects opted for a system of recessed loggias behind the historic glass facades.

Three floors, three vibes

The project, called "Nouvel Été," will be spread across three large levels.

  • Shopping: Zara will be setting up shop on the first three levels (basement, ground floor, first floor).
  • Strasbourg Nights: The German chain Motel One will take over the upper floors, featuring no less than 182 rooms ready to welcome you.
  • Stunning Views: At the very top, a restaurant with a panoramic rooftop will overlook the Grande Île. It’s sure to give the center’s terraces a run for their money!
