If you happen to be near the train station, definitely stop by 4 rue des Bonnes Gens. Behind the large windows of this place just a stone's throw from the Halles shopping center, you'll find a lovely spot that opened its doors in early July. There are no white coats or complicated medical jargon here, just a warm space where you can freely discuss mental health without fear of judgment. That's right, Strasbourg now has its very own House of Mental Health, and it’s a national first!

.

The project has been carried for years by Millie Caroline Reading and her mother Marie-Agnès, both of whom are affected by bipolar disorders. This Franco-British duo is well acquainted with the invisible walls that society erects around mental illnesses. So, they decided to bring those walls down, and the idea...ute;e of creating a physical home to embrace the conversation has blossomed in their minds. It will be in Strasbourg, their beloved city!

A lively place, serving others

Funded by ARS, the city, and the Eurométropole, the Mental Health House is settling into the former space of an escape game. This place isn’t medicalized but it provides guidance, support, and information. Around fifteen Alsatian associations are already taking turns here. Very soon, you’ll be able to attend workshops, screenings, radio shows, or even forum theater sessions. The idea? To talk differently about what we don’t say enough.

So if you need to talk, listen, or simply be there, just walk through the door. It’s wide open!
