When the residents dream of their city, Strasbourg gets to work. And once again this year, the participatory budget has not held back, as confirmed by Actu Strasbourg. With 115 projects in the running and a lovely pot of 2 million euros to distribute, the Alsatian capital has decided: 16 projects will come to life in the coming months to beautify, refresh, and energize the neighborhoods, from Neuhof to Robertsau and through Grande-Île. It’s real, it’s local, and most importantly, it’s envisioned by the people of Strasbourg themselves.

Projects focusing on greening and safety

In Neudorf, we want greenery and fun: greening of Saint-Aloïse Square, playgrounds for children in the market square, re-enchantment of Neufeld Square… There’s a real need for shade, nature, and friendliness.

The same observation can be made in Robertsau, where Tivoli Square is getting a fresh new look while Angle Street is transforming its appearance. At the Médiathèque Mélanie de Pourtalès, the spaces are being rethought to better welcome the neighborhood's readers.

In Neuhof, the desires are just as clear: more inclusivity, more safety, and more spaces to meet. The pathway in front of the Kibitzenau pool is sure to bring joy to those on wheels, while the Place des Palabres in Hautepierre is becoming a true intergenerational gathering spot. A special mention goes to the very symbolic project in Koenigshoffen: a monument honoring women who are victims of femicides, erected in Square Appert. A necessary and sober memory in public space.

Bright ideas brought to life by the people of Strasbourg

And because Strasbourg always has a little extra soul, two projects will touch all neighborhoods: the creation of artistic light paths to add poetry to daily life, and the greening of spaces.Transformation of old parking spaces, to green up the asphalt and refresh the city. Small actions that change the vibe of a sidewalk or intersection, making the city more breathable.

Strasbourg continues to count on citizen participation to shape its urban future. And with the 2025 election on the horizon, this is anything but just a PR stunt. It's a true labor of love.
