Quiet, economical, and packed with little subtleties, this new generation is set to change the game in the coming years. It measures 45 meters, carries up to 290 passengers, but consumes 20% less energy. Yes, it's a bit like the Tesla of trams. Officially presented after its delivery to the Kibitzenau depot, this first tram sets the tone: we’re rethinking mobility without sacrificing comfort. A little novelty: four extra seats have been added behind the driver's cabin.
Tests Before the First Runs
No rush: the Citadis 3 must first go through a testing phase until October, before receiving the precious certification, valid for 30 years. Only after this step can it officially roll on the CTS lines, especially the F line.
. And this is just the beginning.
By 2028, no less than 39 trains like this will be operating in Strasbourg. Twenty-seven will replace the good old Eurotrams, those retro-designed trains we know by heart. And who knows, maybe the fleet will expand even further…
