Since this Friday, April 17th, easyJet has launched a direct route between Strasbourg and Nantes, with two flights per week. Scheduled on Mondays and Fridays, these flights fill an obvious gap in cross-country connections in France. It’s a little revolution for those who hop between these two cities without having to go through Paris.

A time saver that changes everything

The real clincher is the timing : 1 hour and 30 minutes of flying versus 6 to 7 hours by train. It’s safe to say the promise is tempting, especially for business trips or spontaneous weekend getaways. Where the train requires patience and connections, the plane offers a quick and direct alternative. That makes a same-day round trip almost feasible without turning you into a zombie!

With this route, easyJet is aiming for both professionals and tourists. It's worth mentioning that Nantes checks quite a few boxes: classified heritage, proximity to Brittany. The perfect combo for a city break or a business trip!

Testing Phase and Attractive Prices

However, be careful not to get too carried away: this route is currently temporary. Set to run until May 18, 2026, it is part of a testing phase designed to assess demand. In other words, its future will directly depend on the success it finds with travelers. A real-world test that could lead to a permanent service... or it could vanish just as quickly as it arrived.

On the budget side, the promise stays true to the easyJet model, with tickets starting from 40 euros! So simple. A call rate that clearly hits the mark, even if you have to add the usual options like luggage. An effective strategy to quickly attract customers and fill the planes on this route that is still in the works.
