A Kind Tradition for 20 Years!
For 20 years now, the Teddy Bear Hospital has found a home at the Strasbourg Medical School. Every year, preschool children have the unique opportunity to see their stuffed animals receive complete medical care. This initiative aims to reassure children about hospital care for the youngest ones and to show them that medical professionals in white coats are there to help, not to scare them. Antonin Holzer, the event organizer and medical student, emphasizes the importance of this initiative to our colleagues at France Bleu: "In case of a hospital visit, it helps to avoid the fear of the white coat, which is not trivial, as this anxiety can worsen certain diagnoses or even cause them. "... of diseases.".
Kids in Charge
At Teddy Bear Hospital, it's the children who take the lead! Dressed like real doctors, they practice taking care of their stuffed animal companions. From check-ups to surgeries, and even X-rays, each step is explained with gentle and simplicity. We applaud this lovely initiative and hope that it will continue for a very, very long time...
