Almost 6 years after the tragic event, the date for the appeal trial regarding the Strasbourg attack on December 11, 2018, has finally been set. This attack left a mark on France, resulting in five deaths and eleven injuries at the Christmas market, before the perpetrator, Cherif Chekatt, was shot down after a two-day manhunt.

Among the four defendants who assisted the terrorist, Audrey Mondjehi, the only one prosecuted for terrorism, received a 30-year prison sentence last April, along with a permanent ban from the territory. After her appeal, the court has scheduled the appeal trial from March 23 to April 17, 2026, according to the Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace. So, we will have to wait several more months to finally close the chapter on this unfortunate event.
