No more hassle connecting the Esplanade to the Citadelle district. Thanks to this future bridge for soft mobility, pedestrians and cyclists will have their own personal highway above the Dusuzeau basin. It will link the Quai des Belges with the peninsula of Citadelle, which is undergoing a transformation. The icing on the cake: it will also make it easier to reach Neudorf and the Port-du-Rhin. This is definitely going to change the game for all Strasbourg locals who love getting around on two wheels.

170 meters of modernity
The bridge itself will be a stunning structure: 170 meters long, 6 meters wide, with a panoramic view of the tranquil waters of Strasbourg. The project is backed by a wonderful group of local stakeholders: the City, the Eurométropole, SPL Deux-Rives, and the Ports of Strasbourg, with contributions from Bouygues Travaux Publics, Strates ouvrages d’art, and many other planning professionals. The result: a footbridge that will not only connect but also beautify!
This new bridge is part of a larger plan to transform the Citadelle neighborhood. In addition to the physical link, a large park and walking promenade will emerge on the northern tip of the peninsula. We’re talking about 1.7 hectares of green spaces! A true chill corner for the 300 residents!
already installed, and the 1500 others that will arrive in the coming years. See you at the end of 2026 to discover all that !Source : City of Strasbourg
