The smell of Storig beers brewed with passion by the famous Michel Debus brewery will be missed for a while. Around 4 am, firefighters intervened on Saturday night to Sunday. The fire started in the kitchen, quickly spreading to the 500 m² reception room and reaching the roof, with an area of 20 m². The 19 firefighters had to fight the flames with two fire hoses, one of which was used from an aerial ladder. Their efficiency allowed them to control the fire without any casualties, but the damage is such that the brewery and its restaurant must close their doors until further notice.

The Debus brewery, founded in 2016 by Michel Debus, an iconic figure in the world of beer, occupies a historic site: the Villa Weber, a half-timbered house from the 19th century, formerly the site of the Adelshoffen brewery. Michel Debus, creator of the famous Desperados and Adelscott, chose this location to open his restaurant and brewery, thus perpetuating the brewing heritage of the region.

A closure until further notice

For regulars of the Debus brewery, it's a real blow. The restaurant, known for its delicious dishes, huge terrace, and warm atmosphere, is forced to close its doors for an undetermined period. Fans of Storig beers will have to wait before they can once again enjoy their favorite brews.

While waiting for the reopening, the people of Schilik and beer lovers hope that the Debus brewery will quickly recover from this setback.

reuve. The fire may have left traces, but the spirit of conviviality and passion for beer that reign at the brewery are far from extinguishing. See you soon Debus, and good luck with the reconstruction! Source: France 3 Grand-Est
