“A European gem for the year-end festivities. Christmas in Montbéliard is a feast for all the senses. The streets are adorned with dazzling lights, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a winter stroll.” That’s how the market is described.
Noël de Montbéliard by the platform European Best Destinations (how exciting is that!). A market that has won the hearts of nearly 800,000 internet users, overshadowing those of Colmar and Strasbourg (who would have thought, Lustucru).Voir cette publication sur Instagram
Alright, let’s stop being jealous and learn more about this little gem! The Montbéliard Christmas market features no fewer than 150 French artisans and producers nestled around the Saint-Martin temple and in the nearby streets of the city center, showcasing their creations: jewelry, pottery, candles, and scarves. There are also plenty of stands dedicated to local specialties, such as the famous Montbéliard sausages or cancoillotte, that semi-liquid cheese typical of Franche-Comté (fun fact: it's the least caloric cheese out there, so it’s perfect for a diet!). Plus, every year, the market welcomes a guest of honor, and this time it’s Normandy shining a spotlight on its irresistible local products: camembert, cider, rice pudding, and apple pie… Yummy!
