We made it! Summer is just around the corner, bringing with it one of the most unique and delightful events in Strasbourg: the lyrical barbecues at Saint-Guillaume Church! From July 9 to 12, this historic gem will open its usually closed cloister for four evenings where Mozart will be sizzling around the grill. Starting at 7 PM, guests will be warmly welcomed with a glass of Minuty rosé in hand (or any other refreshing drink, of course), setting the mood for the evening.

The highlight of the show, of course, is The Marriage of Figaro. Not in the classic version, but you will enjoy a staging by Guillem Aubry, with harpsichord direction by Cyril Pallaud, and 18th-century costumes created by Marguerite Woerlé. Let’s get started!in the balcony, near the rail organ, specially moved back for the occasion for the first two acts, before finishing in the gardens for a third act in a Versailles under the stars. And what a cast! Kseniia Proshina and Andres Cascante from the Paris Opera, Margarita Polonskaya, Louis de Lavignère…

At 8:30 PM, the atmosphere changes: it’s intermission, and delightful aromas start tickling your nose. Thanks to the Olivier Klein butcher shop, you can enjoy a piece of red meat, either Bavette or marinated rib-eye, along with a selection of charcuterie and a fresh fruit salad. The setting is stunning, the music is enchanting, and the food is a feast! This event has become a classic of Strasbourg summers, and it’s easy to see why. But beware: seating is limited to about a hundred each night, and they disappear quickly. Hurry up because you don't want to miss a night like this!
