It’s the cream of the crop of enchanting spots, selected from hundreds of cities thanks to over 590,000 votes from all over the globe. And on top of that, Metz also grabs the title of the best Christmas market for families!
City Skyliner: the star of Metz
What makes Metz shine in this ranking? The City Skyliner, a panoramic tower that lifts visitors 72 meters above the ground. It’s the sparkling city as far as the eye can see, with its garlands, chalets, and lights that have enchanted people from around the world.

5 places, a unique atmosphere
Are you feeling warmed up? Let’s tell you a bit more. The market spans five iconic spots in Metz, each with its special touch of magic:
- Place de la République, Saint-Jacques and Saint-Louis: the timeless classics with chalets, artisanal creators, and a unique handiaccessible chalet in France.
- Place de la Comédie: enchanting lights that shine until 11 PM on weekends.
- Place d’Armes J.F. Blondel: lights starting from November 29, paving the way for the celebrations of the liberation of Metz.
It runs from November 22.
On December 30, 2024, with flexible hours based on availability. The chalets of the Republic, for example, close at 9 PM and the festivities are extended until 11 PM at the Comédie.
