Attention all eco-friendly travel lovers and night train adventurers: the legendary Nightjet Paris-Vienna, operated by ÖBB (Austrian Railways) in partnership with SNCF, is back in action! After being paused last summer due to railway works in France and severe weather in Austria in September, this highly anticipated night train made its grand comeback on November 12, 2024, connecting Strasbourg and the Austrian capital, Vienna.

A Gradual Restart

For this relaunch, the service started with two round trips per week. You'll just have to wait until December 14 to enjoy a schedule of three round trips each week, giving travelers the chance to reach Vienna in a single night while enjoying the comfort of the Nightjet's sleeper cars.

But that's not all: the Nightjet has a surprise in store for its passengers. A part of the train disconnects halfway to serve Berlin, offering a double destination for night travel enthusiasts.

A convenient and eco-friendly adventure

For those living in Eastern France, this line is a blessing. It allows you to leave from Paris, make a convenient stop in Strasbourg, and wake up the next day in the enchanting setting of the Austrian capital, Vienna, or head straight to Berlin. All without the hassle of flying. It’s a stylish way to travel a bit slower while enjoying the ever-changing landscapes from your sleeper.

With this return, the spirit of night travel is revived, and the idea of falling asleep in France only to wake up in a new European capital has never been so alluring.
