This new edition of the Barometer has been a huge success: over 334,000 people responded to the survey, a first since its creation in 2017. This proves that the little queen has never had so many loyal fans! In Strasbourg, the study measured not only the strides made but also the remaining issues that still hold back cycling, like feelings of insecurity or the lack of safe infrastructure.
A solid spot behind Grenoble
On the leaderboard, no surprises at the top: Grenoble remains number 1, just ahead of Strasbourg and Rennes. The Alsatian capital proudly retains its title of runner-up among major cities, confirming its role as a national leader in soft mobility. A wonderful achievement for a city where the FUB, organizer of the barometer, has also set up its headquarters.
Paths Still to be Traced
While Strasbourg is attracting more and more cyclists, the survey highlights over 2,500 areas deemed dangerous nationwide, including some in Alsace. This presents an opportunity for local communities to enhance the cycling network and support this citizen momentum. Because one thing is for sure: when a city invests in cycling, the benefits are quickly felt, and Strasbourg plans to keep pedaling in the right direction.
