Every year, Montbéliard transforms under a sky of lights where every street becomes a tunnel of brightness. Artisans, Württemberg traditions and Comtoise gastronomy
The Montbéliard Christmas market is anything but a superficial attraction: you'll find nearly 170 artisan chalets with glassblowers, blacksmiths, jewelry creators, and items made of leather, wood, and traditional fabric, showcasing authentic craftsmanship that echoes the city's history. On the culinary side, the stalls are brimming with local products: Montbéliard sausage, cancoillotte, gingerbread, chocolates, and mulled wine... You can also catch local folklore with characters like Aunt Airie, a legendary figure from Württemberg tradition, who strolls through the streets to her little house.
An edition dedicated to Corrèze and twinning
For its 39th edition, the market plans to honor Corrèze: about fifteen artisans.Labelled "Origine Corrèze" will set up their chalets in the historic center, featuring local products: nuts, honey, charcuterie, leather, wood… and demonstrations of Corrézienne traditions. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the twinning between Montbéliard and Ludwigsburg (Germany): a dedicated chalet will showcase wines, mulled wine, jellies, as well as souvenirs from German culture, highlighting the historical connection between the two cities.
