The story behind the restaurant
Virgile Schwarz and Marc Vanthuyne, both graduates from a hotel management degree (one in Dijon, the other in Strasbourg), only met later in their lives. After 30 years working in the restaurant industry, they became friends.
Virgile, wanting to start his own business and Marc, at the end of his contract, decided to do a first "compatibility test" by running a seasonal restaurant in Cap d'Agde. It was the merging of two vibrant minds, each bringing different ideas, but always following the same guidelines.
6 months later, they found out by chance (on Le Bon Coin) about a cozy little restaurant for sale in the heart of Provence.!) that the Presqu'île Malraux is under construction. A attractive area, Rivétoile, the UGC Ciné-Cité and Strasbourg Plage: that's all our two friends need to dive into this booming neighborhood, right at the foot of the Black Swan, on January 18, 2018.
La Brasserie Z
By embarking on this project, Marc and Virgile's goal was to stand out: mission accomplished, as they have opened the first independent bar-restaurant in the area, and are still surrounded only by restaurant chains today.
.
They wanted to convey the image of a multifaceted company, with several atmospheres in the same location, that could attract both students and families. So they divided the space into three distinct areas: a lounge area, a trendy bar area, and a dining area. As for the decor, they drew inspiration from the atmosphere of the "Mama Shelter" hotels. Neutral and raw materials such as wood, concrete, and metal, and even some furniture found at Emmaus, create a style. A mix of baroque, colorful, and modern, with a brand new decor implemented during the lockdown, the restaurant seems to have found its way.
Add to that a warm and green terrace, which gives the impression of not really being in the city, and the tone is set.Your journey is just beginning! 🌟
