It's a true temple dedicated to British culture that has just opened its doors in Strasbourg. Empty for about thirty years, the neo-baroque building located on rue du Vieux marché aux vins in Strasbourg (which once housed the former Strassburger Bank) is getting a new life. Built in 1897, this immense building was also occupied by BNP before being taken over by an antique dealer in 1974 and left abandoned since 1984. Long coveted by developers (thanks to its magnificent glass roof and majestic castle staircase), the building has since fallen into disrepair for several years.

A 400-seat curiosity cabinet

But that was before! Before the restaurant group Diabolo Poivre Gestion (responsible for several well-known establishments in Strasbourg) took over the business to create a huge typical English pub under the sweet name of The Drunky Stork Social Club. Under the splendid 7 meters high glass roof, this new British-themed social hub brings together all the ingredients of the perfect pub: wood paneling, paintings, vintage objects, an art deco style central bar, circular sound system, giant screen, and many private corners (reminiscent of a curiosity cabinet), all adorned with remnants of the past like old radiators or ceiling moldings. Total cost of the operation: 3 million euros.

From aperitif to a lounge party, including a meal with British (but also Asian and European) flavors, everything is there! When it comes to drinks, you'll also find a beer tap paradise and delicious cocktails. The venue covers a total of 800 m², with over half of it dedicated to customers, offering seating for up to 400 guests. And to top it off: you can even dine in the former bank management office.
