You know the city of Strasbourg, but do you know its history ? Head to the Saint-Paul church from February 28 to March 28, 2026, for a chance to experience a real leap through time. After two successful editions in Colmar and one in Mulhouse, which attracted 20,000 and 25,000 visitors respectively, the immersive show Terra Alsatia is taking over this fabulous Strasbourg landmark located between the university palace and the Place de la République to breathe life into it through projections, optical illusions, and exceptional light displays. A historical journey, as breathtaking as it is enchanting

A Dive into Strasbourg's History

Fast forward to 2026: we find ourselves in the aftermath of the 1870 war. In the heart of Europe, Strasbourg is gradually rising from its ashes. While the Port of the Rhine plays a central and thriving commercial role, stonemasons are building the Saint-Paul church by the Ill River, at the intersection of Mullenheim Quay and Zorn Quay. The city is being rebuilt, filled with secrets, tensions, and rivalries.

In just 1 hour and 15 minutes, Terra Alsatia tells a captivating story that spans nearly a century of local history, from 1870 to 1945, marked by wars, exodus, the search for identity, as well as love and reconciliation. Set against a stunning 360-degree backdrop, created using state-of-the-art techniques in video, lighting, and sound, the show presents a moving narrative that resonates with both young and old, while conveying values of peace and resilience, and contributing to the duty of remembrance. To enhance these technological marvels, actors and performers join in for each performance, adding a unique human dimension. In total, 120 professional artists and technicians contribute to this ambitious artistic project, overseeing a troupe of 300 festive souls.

A visual and sound immersion

Nave, vaults… every nook and cranny of the Saint-Paul Church is filled with light. This spectacle, directed by Damien Fontaine, transforms the ordinarily still stone walls into a limitless canvas of creativity, vibrant and dynamic.

The concept was born in 2019, in the basilica of Domrémuy. Building on its success, it has spread to a multitude of religious buildings across France and around the globe. In every city it visits, a new show is created, adapting to the architecture of the site and the history of the city. Attendees leave with their minds filled with knowledge and stars in their eyes.
