Looking for the perfect spot to escape the sweltering summer heat? In a movie theater, of course! And it's great timing because from June 28 to July 1, 2026, the Cinema Festival is rolling into theaters all across France. What does that mean? Four days of celebration, four days of movies, and four days to enjoy without breaking the bank!

Movies for the Whole Family

For four days, all participating cinemas are offering a special price of 5 € for tickets. That means it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy one or more movie sessions, whether solo, with family, or with friends. Among the must-see feature films during this time will be Toy Story 5, Supergirl, Shana — selected for the Cannes Directors' Fortnight —, The Vertigo — the new film by Quentin Dupieux, also selected for the Cannes Directors' Fortnight — and the documentary André is an Idiot — featuring the voice of Kyan Khojandi.

Over 40 Years of History

The Film Festival has a long and rich history! Established on June 14, 1985 by the Ministry of Culture, the National Federation of French Cinemas, and other industry professionals, this festival originally allowed participants to buy a passbookfor the price of a movie ticket that they could then reuse all day, allowing them to enjoy the special rate of 1 franc per show” (equivalent to 15 cents today), explains the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC). The first edition was such a success that the event has continued over the years, evolving in its format and making cinema a central element of French cultural life
