Barcelona, the most awaited destination for Bretons
Starting from October 26, 2025, Rennes will be connected to Barcelona twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday. This is a huge relief for local travel agencies that have been asking for this route for a long time. According to the MTA 2024 study, Barcelona is the most sought-after international destination by the residents of Ille-et-Vilaine. And we totally understand why: beaches, culture, tapas, architecture, and sunshine nearly all year round.
But beyond just vacations, this new route also has a strong economic and academic dimension. Over 800 Breton companies export to Spain, and Barcelona attracts many students each year (hello Erasmus). So, it’s truly a bridge being built between Brittany and Catalonia.

Geneva, the gateway to Switzerland (and the Alps!)
Starting October 31, 2025, Geneva will enhance the Rennes air travel options, with flights every Monday and Friday. It's a fantastic spot to quickly reach the French-speaking part of Switzerland, as well as ski resorts and the business world.
This route meets a strong and regular demand, especially from French-Swiss families, tourists (over a million overnight stays in Switzerland in Brittany in 2024!), and professionals. With this connection, Rennes gets closer to a population of one million residents, further strengthening its international ties.

Rennes Bretagne, an airport on the rise
With Manchester already added to its flight map in June 2025, and now Barcelona and Geneva, Rennes Bretagne airport is reaffirming its commitment to enhancing its international network. Thanks to the efforts of the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and VINCI Airports, it is establishing itself as a rapidly growing regional hub.
One thing is for sure, Rennes has never been this connected to Europe. Ready to board?
