Well, the weather just loves to keep us on our toes! After a week of cold, snow, and wind, a warm spell has allowed the bravest among us to reclaim the terraces in the evening (we might be exaggerating just a bit…). A lovely little rise in temperature (even if it's accompanied by a fair bit of rain), but let us give you a heads-up: we hope you haven’t packed away your parkas and puffer jackets for good, as the weather might take a turn for the worse again.

A gentle... but gray start to the week

Let’s not jump the gun! Before we dive into the potential downward spiral waiting for us at the end of the week, let’s take a moment to focus on the forecast for the next few days. And overall, brace yourselves because not much will change from what we experienced last week. Generally, temperatures are expected to range between 3 and 10°C all week, and the sky will mostly be gray, misty, and even rainy, especially starting Thursday. Fortunately, we've got some good vibes despite the clouds!

t, a few beautiful bright spells will manage to break through the clouds here and there on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A Bold Return of Winter

Unfortunately, this Sunday, January 25th, might mark a turning point in our little lives, as a cold wave could sweep over France and Rennes. What’s behind this potential return of snow? For the past few weeks, the northern countries of Europe have been experiencing an unprecedented cold wave: -43°C in Finnish Lapland, -50°C in Stockholm, and a chilly -60°C in Siberia! And while this reservoir of icy air, also known as the "polar vortex," is currently stuck at the top of the Old Continent, it is expected to move down towards the southwest, and thus France, in the coming days. But don’t worry just yet! For now, the probability of this scenario remains relatively low and would require a number of factors. So, no need to panic immediately!
