With the expansion of paid green zone parking, the municipality has decided to offer a reduced monthly rate for residents with modest incomes. According to Valérie Faucheux, the deputy mayor in charge of mobility and transportation, this measure aims to "not penalize the most modest," as explained by the metropolitan magazine Ici Rennes.

When and how can you benefit from this?

The reduction will be available starting Sunday, December 1, 2024, and applications can be submitted as early as Monday, November 4. Residents will need to apply online or by making an appointment with the Parking Office.

Who is affected?

Only residents of the green zone are eligible for this reduced rate. Prices in the red zone will remain unchanged. Those who can benefit from this reduction are individuals holding the Sortir! card or those who can avail themselves of reduced fares in public transport.

The process requires several documents: a home insurance certificate, a copy of the vehicle registration certificate, and for some, a statement made with the Communal Social Action Center (CCAS).

What will the new rate be?

Currently, the subscription for residential parking in the green zone is 14 euros per month. Thanks to the reduction, eligible individuals will enjoy a monthly rate of 2 or 7 euros, depending on their income. This calculation is based on the same income thresholds used for public transport fares and the Sortir! card.

This initiative will allow many residents of Rennes to continue &. park nearby their home without facing a significant increase in costs. It's like Christmas comes early!
